LO4.2: Improvement Evaluation

After we received our audience feedback from the people who watched our film through the questionnaire they filled in, we discovered that a possible improvement we could make was that while Connor was talking to the therapist, we could add more shot reverse shots to create a more fluid conversation and be able to see both characters reactions.   We also need to make the lighting more consistent. Since we used mainly natural lighting, which is unreliable, and filmed over multiple days, the lighting was inconsistent due to weather changes and time changes. W e could do this by closing the blinds and using lighting equipment to get more consistent lighting throughout our short film. Another issue with our short film is the audio. This is due to background noise and the fact that all of the alters voices are recorded separately which makes it sound less fluid like a proper conversation would be. we could have fixed this by recordin...

LO4.1: Audience Feedback

We made this questionnaire to hand out to our audience to fill in after our screen test. we did this to gain audience feedback so we are made aware of our strengths and weaknesses to know how we could improve our short film. we printed out multiple copies to gain feedback from multiple people.

LO3.3: Audio

Image
To begin editing our audio we clicked the edit clip in adobe audition. This loaded the clips into adobe audition to allow us to begin editing. However when we put them back into premiere pro we how to export them and then import them back into premiere pro. While editing the audio, one of our goals reduce background noises such as the hum that the microphone picked up. This noise occurred because we didn't have access to  lavalier microphones (microphones that clip on shirts)  so we had to use on camera microphones which picked up more background noise since they were further away from the actors. We did this by clicking on the Denoise option on Adobe Audition which allowed us to remove the hum while keeping the frequency consistent. We also wanted to get rid of any sharp noises and make our film a more consistent volume.  We used Adobe Auditions Parametric Equaliser to keep the frequency consistent throughout the short film.  We did this by manually dragging an...

LO3.2: Evidence of Editing

IMPORTING FOOTAGE AND THEIR TIMECODES These are screenshots of our importing our footage onto Adobe Premiere Pro and our editing process. In shot #5029, the tracking forward shot of Cam walking to the door, we chose to play the clip from 00:03 to 00:17. we did this because that was the most relevant part of the shot ad fit in best with the other clips that we had. We did this by finding the time in the software and using the razor tool to cut the clip at the desired time. We also did this to shot #5228, a medium shot of the cupboard with games on. We used the same method to cut this clip from 00:05 to 00:13 as this was the best part of the shot and was the length that we needed. This makes our film more enjoyable for our audience and makes it run smoother. Special Effects We started off by adding the Adobe Premiere Pro transition 'dip to black', which is part of the dissolve transitions, at the beginning and end of our short film. At the beginning of our short film it fades fro...

LO3.1: Offline edit

Image
This is the offline edit of our short film.we have the clips in order but we haven't added any special effects. We also have not changed the audio. OFFLINE EDIT Our Life - Offline Edit STORYBOARD This is our story board. Our film differed slightly from this storyboard in a couple of ways. These are: We decided to add short flashes of the therapy room to show Connor having flashbacks to when he was there previously as he was walking towards the room. We decided to end the film with the clock as well as starting the film with the clock rather than go back to a shot of the therapist at the end. We changed some of the camera movements from our storyboard and added some camera movements and shot types to our film that we hadn't included.
